FAQs
Do I have to bring in a hard copy of my plan in order to get it printed?
No. Most of our print requests come to us (i) via email with an attached PDF file, (ii) on a disk or portable drive, or (iii) downloaded from "the Cloud" or ftp site, plan rooms, DropBox, etc with instructions on what is needed. However, we can always print or scan from an original or "hard" copy.

Can I get copies/prints that are smaller or larger than the plans I presently have?
Yes, we can reduce or enlarge standard plans. We are often asked to do this to provide more convenient sized plans (reduced) for the job site or to have while traveling. Also, many plans come out of "the Cloud" or from attachments to emails in sizes too small to see necessary detail. We can enlarge these to standard size plans. One caution, however, is scaling. Enlarging or reducing can alter the original scale. We are always careful to keep the scale if possible, or alert the customer that enlarged or reduced drawings are not to scale.
The Blueprint Company is a reprographics shop. What does that mean?
"Reprographics" is a fancy word meaning the science and practice of reproducing documents and graphic material. That is what we do, but we generally call it simply copying and printing. Reprographics is, however, still the term our industry uses to define itself.
I am bidding on a large project, and I am only interested in plans and specifications that relate to my trade. Can I get only the plans and specs I need or do I have to get the entire project plan set?
Excellent question. We have that asked daily. If you only need specific plans or drawings related to your trade, e.g., elevations,
structural, electrical, mechanical, framing, low voltage, sections, landscape, civil, irrigation, utility, grading, interior finish, architectural, etc.,
then merely tell us specifically what sheets you want or need, and that's what we'll print for you.

I have a revised set of drawings that are marked with changes or "red-lined". Can I get these drawings copied so that the revisions show clearly?
Yes, we can reproduce a drawing or plan exactly as you have marked it with your revisions in color. There is great value in this. Studies
have shown that true color "red-lines" save money and prevent costly errors and job delays. However, there is added cost for color reproduction. Color reproduction is an entirely different process from monochrome (black & white). While every job is different, color ranges between five and twenty times more expensive than a monochrome of the same image, depending upon the color saturation. However, a missed electrical line, window opening or toilet fixture, for example, in the final product will cost many multiples of that added copy cost.

I have a plan set for a project - home, commercial building, or federal project. Can you scan this in and have it available for me or for various tradesmen to order plans they need?
Yes, we have hundreds, if not thousands, of plans which customers have asked us to keep either for them or for others working with or under them. We scan and save them to a specific file in our massive server under your name and specific project. Our staff can access it quickly for you or any sub-contractor or tradesman. These files are not accessible to any one other than our staff.
